Two ships carrying a total of 66,000 tonnes of diesel have arrived early today at the outer anchorage of Chattogram Port.

The vessels, named 'MT Torm Damini' with 32,000 tons of diesel and 'MT Lucia Solis' with 34,000 tons of diesel, reached the anchorage at 2 am early today. A pilot boat was dispatched to guide 'MT Lucia Solis' to Dolphin Jetty No. 5 in Patenga.

The information was confirmed by sources at BPC, the port, and the ships' local agent.

According to port regulations, commercial ships are navigated to and from the outer anchorage through the estuary and Karnaphuli River during high tide by the port's pilots, with the assistance of powerful tugboats. 'MT Lucia Solis' was successfully brought to Dolphin Jetty through the port channel in the afternoon.

The diesel cargo was supplied by Unipac Singapore pte ltd and Vittal Asia, based in Singapore.

'MT Torm Damini' is scheduled to be brought to Dolphin Jetty No. 6 on Thursday, reports BSS.
