The prospect of developing business relations between Bangladesh and Brunei was discussed at an eid reunion organised by the Nawab Salumullah Academy at the VIP Lounge of National Press Club on Sunday.
Rozaimee Abdullah, First Secretary, Brunei High Commission was the chief guest at the eid-reunion which was addressed by a number of businessmen with Nawab Salimullah Academy president Abdul Jabbar in the chair.
Speaking on the programme on promoting business relations between Bangladesh and Brunei, Abu Huraira, former director FBCCI underlined the need for sharing information about markets of the two countries for mutually explored for the benefit of both. He suggested that there can be a free trade agreement between the two countries.

Engr Imran Quader dwelt on economic and business situation in Bangladesh which can be of benefit to Brunei.
Asif Khan, exporter of garment and food commodities said that the two peoples are close to each other and can benefit from trade and business with each other.
Moulana Shawkat Amin said Muslims in the world must be united and work for each other in economic and commercial sectors with minimum tariffs.
Mahiruzzaman said, Brunei is small in population but has many mineral resources. Brunei is much ahead in establishing the tenets of Islam he said hoping that business relations between the two countries will improve.
Principal Harunur Rashid said Muslim countries should start doing business and commerce among themselves. Brunei supported Bangladesh's independence war, he said.
Khamenee Ehsan spoke of the halal market of Beunei and made mention of the garment industry and IT sectors on which collaborations can be explored. He called for seeking sustainable business models between the two countries.
Rozaimee Abdullah, First Secretary, Brunei High Commission said they were here to explore new markets. He said a small country of 450,000 people Brunei
has managed its resources well. Brunei is also in ASEAN and has tourism. We are here to promote business cooperation he said adding that people from outside are afraid of frequent changes taking place here and want to see stability.
Nazimur Rahim gave a detailed account of the business opportunities available in Brunei and told the audience that people
can go only with legitimate income to invest in that country. ASEAN has a market of 600 million, benefit of which can be taken by investors, he said.
Replying to a question Rozaimee Abdullah said both countries will benefit from joint chamber if it is established. He has words of praise for the economic zones but said
People outside are afraid of many changes taking place here. We want stable environment to invest here, he added. He said that there is serious govt to govt discussion and people to people contacts. But more is needed, he added.
In his presidentiad address Abdul Jabbar said Brunei is a stable stable country, run under Shariah law. It has no police.
