Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has strongly defended his country’s nuclear rights, questioning the authority of US President Donald Trump to challenge them, amid ongoing tensions between Washington and Tehran over nuclear issues.
Speaking on Sunday, Pezeshkian said there was no justification for denying Iran its rights under international frameworks.
“Trump says Iran cannot make use of its nuclear rights but does not explain for what reason. Who is he to deprive a nation of its rights?” he said.
His remarks come as disagreements between the United States and Iran persist over Tehran’s nuclear programme, with both sides maintaining firm positions on the issue.
