Thakurgaon, July 14 -- A 39-year-old transwoman was found dead in Kohorpara of Thakurgaon's Sadar upazila Wednesday, police said Thursday.

The deceased was identified as Brishti, who lived in a room in ‘Uttaran Asrayan’ project, especially built for the transgenders.

Being informed by locals, police rushed to the scene and found her body hanging from the ceiling in her room, said Kamal Hossain, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station.

“Whether she ended her life or died by suicide will be clear only after an autopsy,” he added. - UNB
