Ambassador of Germany to Bangladesh Dr. Rüdiger Lotz made a courtesy call on State Minister for Foreign Affairs Humaiun Kobir at the Ministry Wednesday afternoon.



Dhaka, 08 October 2026: Ambassador of Germany to Bangladesh Dr. Rüdiger Lotz made a courtesy call on State Minister for Foreign Affairs Humaiun Kobir at the Ministry Wednesday afternoon. The Ambassador congratulated the State Minister on his recent assumption of office and expressed confidence in further strengthening Bangladesh-Germany relations.

The State Minister appreciated Germany’s longstanding engagement and development cooperation with Bangladesh and expressed interest in expanding bilateral cooperation, particularly in trade and investment, education, skills development, renewable energy, climate action, culture, and migration and mobility. The discussions covered a broad range of bilateral, regional and global issues of mutual interest. The two sides also exchanged views on the broadening Bangladesh-EU partnership and reaffirmed their commitment to cooperation in relevant international fora.

Ambassador Lotz reaffirmed Germany’s commitment to deepening bilateral cooperation, with particular emphasis on the early conclusion of a Bangladesh-EU FTA, enhanced cooperation in the aviation sector, and greater trade, investment and people-to-people exchanges. He highlighted Bangladesh’s post-election stability and noted the growing interest of German companies in the country’s investment-friendly climate.

The meeting was held in a cordial atmosphere, with both sides expressing confidence that continued high-level engagement would provide further impetus to the longstanding Bangladesh-Germany partnership. - Press release
