Attack on 3 10-party alliance workers in Kalapara blamed on Sheaf of Paddy

A man injufred in a political clash in Kalapara has been hospitalised.



Gofran Palash, Patuakhali: There have been allegations of attack on 3 workers of 10-party unity alliance against supporters of paddy sheaves in Kalapara, Patuakhali. Among the injured in the incident, Abdul Qayum Qutub (48), Finance Secretary of Dhulasa Union Jamaat-e-Islami of Mahipur Police Station in the upazila, and Jamal Hossain (30), Finance Secretary of Ward No. 7 of that union, have been admitted to Kalapara Hospital. The other injured, President of Dhulasar Union Jamaat-e-Islami Md. Elias (35), has received primary treatment. The incident took place in front of Majhi Bari's house in Notunpara village of Dhulasar Union of Mahipur Police Station in the upazila on Thursday afternoon. The 3 injured people live in different villages of that union.

The injured alleged that around noon,  the three supporters of Dr. Zahir Uddin went to distribute leaflets and seek votes in Notunpara village. At that time, supporters of Paddy sheaf, Jafar, Delwar, Anwar and Abdul Malek ambushed them and snatched them of their mobile phones and money. Later, locals rescued them and admitted them to Kalapara Hospital. However, Paddy Sheaves supporters completely denied the beating.

Mohipur Police Station OC Md. Mohabbat Khan said that the victims have given a written complaint in this incident. Action is being taken subject to investigation.
