Govt to intensify procession monitoring, take stern action
The government asked the authorities concerned to intensify the monitoring on sudden processions and illegal meetings and take strict legal action against those who are behind incidents.
The directive was issued from a high-level meeting with Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus in the chair at the State Guest House Jamuna in the city.
The meeting was held to review the law and order situation across the country, said Chief Adviser's Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam at a press briefing at the Foreign Service Academy here after the meeting.
Finance Adviser Dr Salehuddin Ahmed, Planning Adviser Wahiduddin Mahmud, Law Adviser Asif Nazrul, Home Affairs Adviser Lieutenant General (Retd) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, Industries Adviser Adilur Rahman Khan, Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Adviser Muhammad Fouzul Kabir Khan, Environment, Forest and Climate Change Adviser Syeda Rizwana Hasan, Local Government, Rural Development and Co-operatives Adviser Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuyain and Labour and Employment Adviser Brigadier General (Retd.) Dr. M Sakhawat Hussain joined the meeting.
Besides, National Security Adviser Dr Khalilur Rahman, Chief Adviser’s Special Assistant (Home Affairs Ministry) Md Khuda Baksh Chowdhury and Inspector General of Police (IGP) Baharul Alam were also present at the meeting, reports BSS.
