
OIC and Azerbizan organise cultural festival in Baku
Jeddah, 01-12-2025- The Republic of Azerbaijan is hosting "the OIC Cultural Festival (Baku Creative Week 2025)" in the capital, Baku, from 5 to 11 December 2025, co-organized by the OIC General Secretariat and the Ministry of Culture in the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The General Secretariat is participating in this prominent cultural event with a high-level delegation, headed by H.E. Amb. Tarig Ali Bakheet, Assistant Secretary-General for Cultural, Social and Humanitarian Affairs, on behalf of H.E. Secretary-General Hissein Brahim Taha.
This world festival shall serve as a platform that brings together thousands of invitees and participants, including ministers of culture, young designers, creators, filmmakers, and innovators within the OIC member states and beyond. The OIC institutions concerned with culture, heritage, and media are also participating in this event, where they will be provided with pavilions to exhibit their programs and productions.
The festival is expected to attract over 300 visitors from over 50 states, during which they will celebrate creativity, dialogue, and cultural values shared by the OIC states. Among the participants are governmental officials, representatives from international organizations, prominent scientific and cultural figures, and experts in the creative, theatrical, and media industries.
This milestone cultural event aims to promote cooperation among member states in the areas of culture, heritage, cinema, creative industries, and digital media, to enshrine dialogue and mutual understanding, and to build cultural bridges between Azerbaijan and other countries, notably the OIC member states. The "Baku Creative Week" is expected to contribute to showcasing the growing role of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the world cultural arena and shoring up its efforts of promoting the values of multiculturism, dialogue, and cooperation.
The festival also features the organization of "OIC Cinema Days," during which selected films will be screened to encourage dialogue among cultures and artistic exchange and cooperation in the film industry. In addition, theater performances will be delivered to shed light on the rich heritage and modern creativity in member states, as well as works of Islamic cultural art highlighting the traditions and aesthetics of various peoples and the cultural diversity and creative expressions of the societies of the OIC member states.
In parallel with the festival's happenings, a high-level meeting of the OIC ministers of culture will be held, as well as forums of cultural and creative industries, world cinema programs, and fashion shows for young and established designers from the OIC countries, as well as an international summit on gaming technologies. – OIC News
