Renowned cultural organizer AJM Obaidullah dies

Renowned cultural organizer, writer, researcher and former central president of Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir Dr AJM Obaidullah passed away at a private hospital in Chattogram at 12:50 m on Saturday.


Dr. Obaidullah, born in Char Fashion, Bhola, pursued his studies at the University of Chittagong and Dhaka University.

He was the founding registrar of the International Islamic University Chittagong and most recently held the position of director at the university.

In addition to his academic achievements, Dr. Obaidullah was known for his contributions to literature and culture.

He was a passionate motivational speaker and held significant positions, including serving as a member of the Central Working Committee of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and Naib-e-Ameer of Chattogram Metropolitan Jamaat.

He was deeply involved in literary circles, serving as the editor of Angikar Digest and the editor-in-chief of Wheel Business Magazine. Among his well-known works are the books Tarun Tomar Jonno and Swapner Thikana.

His namaz-e-janaza was held at the historic Parade Maidan in Chattogram city at 11 am today.

Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Dr. Shafiqur Rahman expressed his condolences on the death of Dr AJM Obaidullah, reports BSS.
