The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) today conducted separate operations in Dinajpur, Dhaka and Rajshahi, exposing irregularities in education, banking and healthcare sectors.

In Dinajpur, ACC found anomalies in work orders issued at Haji Mohammad Danesh Science and Technology University.

A team of ACC launched an operation from its head office in Dhaka over allegations involving the appointment of an accused in the NID information theft case to a secretary-level post, illegal contracts worth hundreds of crores of taka and suspicious bank transactions.

As part of the operation, ACC officials collected ownership details of relevant cheques, account transaction records and current balances from three branches of BRAC Bank, NRBC Bank and Dutch-Bangla Bank.

Meanwhile, in Paba Upazila Health Complex, Rajshahi, the ACC found fee collection without deposit, patient harassment, broker involvement and poor hygiene, reports BSS.

The ACC said legal action will be followed based on detailed reports and such drives will continue in coming days.
