Iranian army chief Major-General Amir Hatami said the United States and Israel know that any act of aggression against Iran will be met with a unified, quick and strong response from both the country’s military and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

“The unity between the two forces has served as an iron shield protecting the country against enemy plots and conspiracies,” he said at a meeting with IRGC Commander-in-Chief Major-General Ahmad Vahidi on Saturday, according to the Fars news agency.

Vahidi said enemy powers have underestimated Iran’s military capacity and realised their mistake.

He said that the Iranian army and the IRGC were the two major anti-American forces that have dealt heavy blows to “terrorist groups” in recent wars, adding that Iran’s true military strength is being shown on the battlefield, reports AL Jazeera.
