Low pressure-induced rainfall in Kalapara on Wednesday
Patuakhali: A low pressure has formed in North Bay of Bengal and adjacent West Bengal-Bangladesh coast. Due to this, the sky of Kuakata coast of Patuakhali is thickly cloudy. Intermittent moderate to heavy rain is falling in various places of the district since 9 pm on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the Bay of Bengal adjacent to Kuakata is becoming turbulent due to the low pressure. Small and large waves are crashing on the shore. The Meteorological Office is concerned that the low pressure will intensify further. Due to this, gale force winds may blow through North Bay of Bengal and coastal areas. Therefore, Payra, Chittagong, Cox's Bazar and Mongla sea ports of Patuakhali have been asked to display local warning signal No. 03. In addition, fishing trawlers have been asked to move carefully near the coast.
The Meteorological Office says that gusty winds of 45 to 60 kilometers per hour from the south/southeast are likely to blow over Patuakhali, Khulna, Barisal, Noakhali, Comilla, Chittagong and Cox's Bazar regions. Therefore, these river ports have been asked to display warning signal number 01. - Gofran Palash
