Parts of country to see rain, lightning in next 24 hrs

Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecast rain in different parts of the country in the next 24 hours starting from 9am today.


According to a Met office bulletin issued on Thursday morning, light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty winds and lightning flashes are likely to occur at many places over Mymensingh, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions, and at a few places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna and Barishal divisions.

The bulletin also said moderately heavy to heavy rainfall may occur at places across the country.

Day and night temperatures are likely to remain nearly unchanged.

The highest temperature on Wednesday was recorded at 35.5°C in Saidpur under Rangpur division, while the lowest temperature today was 23.8°C in Bandarban, reports BSS.

The sun will set at 6:50pm today and rise at 5:15am tomorrow in Dhaka, the bulletin added.
