Two minor boys drown in Jhenaidah

Two minor boys drowned this morning in a canal at Dogachhi village in the Sadar upazila of Jhenaidah district.


The victims were identified as Lamim Hossain, 5, son of Ripon Mondal of Dogachhi village in sadar upazila and Apon Hossain,7, son of Ujjwal Hossain of Aruwakandi village of the same upazila.  

 Officer-in-charge (OC) of Jhenaidah Sadar thana Abdullah Al Mamun told BSS that, “The children drowned when they were catching fish in the canal using fishing spear.”

The children were taken to Jhenaidah Sadar Hospital when on-duty doctors declared them dead, reports BSS. 

“The bodies have been handed to the families as there were no complains”, he added.
