Dhaka, June 30 - Three members of a family, who fell sick this morning at a hotel in Dhaka's Moghbazar area, was later declared dead after being taken to hospital.

Officer in charge of Ramna police station  Gulam Faruque said Monir along with his family members came to Dhaka from his village home Ramgonj upazila in Laxnipur district on Saturday afternoon for medical consultations.  They tried to get Prof Dr Din Muhammad's appointment  in his Eskaton Road Hospital, he said quoting relatives of the victims.

As they did not get appointment on Saturday,  they had stayed at a residential hotel "Hotel Sweet Sleep" near Moghbazar intersection for the night to get appointment for Sunday.

The OC further said that the trio suddenly fell sick in the morning with vomiting. At one stage, Monir called his uncle named Rafiqul Islam over phone.

Later, his uncle came to the hotel at around 11:00am  and then rushed them to nearby Al Din hospital where they died, the OC added.

The bodies will be sent to the DMCH morgue for autopsy.
