Power generation at Payra Thermal Power Plant 1st unit starts after a month

Patuakhali: Power generation of the first unit (660 MW) of the Payra 1320 MW Thermal Power Plant in Kalapara upazila of Patuakhali has started after a long 1 month. Shah Moni Jico, Assistant Manager (Investigation) of the Payra Thermal Power Plant, confirmed the matter on Saturday morning.
Assistant Manager Shah Moni Jico said that power generation of the first unit was started after the maintenance work was completed on Friday afternoon.
Earlier, the authorities had stopped the power generation of this unit for maintenance work since January 1. Currently, the entire 1320 MW of power is being supplied to the national grid from this power plant. - Gofran Palash
