Prime Minister's Political Adviser Zahir Uddin Swapon today said a vested quarter is trying to create anarchy in the country, urging people to remain united against such forces through greater cultural engagement.

He made the remarks as the chief guest at a programme marking the 37th anniversary of Sahitya-Sanskriti Parishad at Chunarughat in Habiganj.

Swapon said cultural activities can play an important role in fostering unity and countering forces seeking to create disorder in society.

State Minister for Cultural Affairs Ali Newaz Mahmud Khaiyam and State Minister for Planning Zonayed Abdur Rahim Saki addressed the programme.

Parishad President and Daily Ittefaq Executive Editor Saleh Uddin chaired the event.

Habiganj-4 constituency lawmaker SM Faisal and Deputy Commissioner of Habiganj Dr GM Sarfaraj, among others, attended the programme.

Swapon assured the organizers of necessary government cooperation for the development of literature and culture in Chunarughat and said the parishad's cultural activities would be expanded, reports BSS.
