PM has begun rebuilding country: EAB convener
Engineers Association of Bangladesh (EAB) Convener Engineer Shahrin Islam Tuhin today said the country's development and rebuilding efforts have begun under the leadership of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.
"Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has begun the work of rebuilding the country. Nilphamari will not lag behind in this process," he said.
Tuhin made the remarks as chief guest at a views-exchange meeting with businesspeople at the conference room of the Nilphamari Chamber of Commerce and Industry this afternoon.
He expressed his commitment to working for the development of trade and commerce in Nilphamari and expanding opportunities for higher education in the district.
He said many students from Nilphamari were falling behind in admission to universities and medical colleges due to a lack of quality educational institutions.
"Work is underway to establish quality educational institutions to advance the district's education sector," he said.
Nilphamari Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Md Mahbub Ur Rahman presided over the meeting, attended by business leaders and entrepreneurs from different sectors.
Earlier, Tuhin distributed scholarships among 80 poor and meritorious students at a programme organized by the District Council at the Circuit House auditorium. District Council Administrator Md Mizanur Rahman Chowdhury presided over the programme.
At the programme, it was announced that the District Council would provide scholarships to 338 students who secured GPA-5 in this year's SSC examinations. Scholarship cheques were handed over to 80 students on the day, reports BSS.
