DB arrests a suspect in attack on ex US envoy Bernicat's convoy

DB arrests the suspect Siam from a house at Mohammadpur



Dhaka, Sept 23 - Mohammad Siam Hasan (26), a suspect named in the charge-sheet for the 2018 attack on the convoy of former US Ambassador Marcia Bernicat, has been arrested by the Detective Branch (DB) from Mohammadpur.

AC media of DMP Jahangir Kabir confirmed the information.

Acting on a tip-off, a DB Tejgaon team from the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) apprehended Siam Hasan at 11:30 p.m. Monday from a house on Tajmahal Road, Mohammadpur. He was wanted in connection with the supplementary charge-sheet filed in the case of the attack on Bernicat's convoy.

Siam Hasan is also an accused in another case related to the killing during the recent student uprising and has several other cases pending against him.-UNB
