Businessman commits suicide in Kalapara

Patuakhali: A businessman named Adhir Chandra Talukder (40) committed suicide by hanging himself with a banana tree in Kalapara of Patuakhali. The incident took place at Chingaria area of municipality on Tuesday around 3:30 pm.

The deceased Adhir Talukdar's house is in Neemtala village of Shikarpur area of Munshiganj. He is the son of deceased Prafulla Talukdar of that village. At present he is living with his wife as a tenant in the house of Sabinoy Chandra Paik in Chingaria area. A UD case has been filed in Kalapara police station in this incident.

Kalapara police sub-inspector Md. Ali Hossain said that Adhir Talukdar has been doing wood business in Kalapara for a long time. For a few days, he became depressed due to the downturn in business. He thinks that he can choose the path of suicide from this.

Meanwhile, local residents said that seeing his body hanging from the banana tree, many people became suspicious. He was fried to the ground up to his knees. - Gofran Biswas Palash
