Dhaka, 31 Oct - Reigning woman champion Woman FIDE Master Noshin Anjum of Bangladesh Navy became champion in the 43rd National Women’s Chess Championship held at the Chess Federation’s Hall-Room Friday.

 She clinched the title with an impressive 8.5 points from eleven matches. She secured the championship title for the third consecutive year, achieving a remarkable hat-trick of the national women’s title.

 In the 11th or final round games, WFM Noshin Anjum drew with her teammate Woman FIDE Master Warsia Khusbu.

Woman International Master Wadifa Ahmed, Woman Candidate Master Walijah Ahmed of Bangladesh Navy and Woman Candidate Master Nusrat Jahan Alo of Cumilla scored seven points each at the end of the 11th and final round. 

The trio will compete in tomorrow’s (Saturday) play-off matches to determine the runner-up, third, and fourth positions. 

Woman FIDE Master Warsia Khusbu became 5th place in the standings with 6.5  points.

Woman Candidate Master Kazi Zarin Tasnim of Bangladesh Navy and Woman FIDE Master Jannatul Ferdous of Bangladesh Ansar finished with five and a half points each and will face each other in a play-off match for the sixth and seventh places Saturday.BSS
