PM visits Armed Forces Division office for first time

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Monday attended his office at the Armed Forces Division in Dhaka Cantonment for the first time since assuming office.

He arrived at around 9:00am and was received by the chiefs of the three armed services, according to his Additional Press Secretary Atikur Rahman Rumon. The Prime Minister exchanged greetings with the service chiefs before beginning his official engagements for the day.

During the visit, he formally conferred new rank badges on Lieutenant General Mir Mushfiqur Rahman and Major General Kaiser Rashid Chowdhury, marking their recent promotions.

Among those present were the Prime Minister’s Defence Adviser Brigadier General (retd) AKM Shamsul Islam, Chief of Army Staff General Waker-Uz-Zaman, Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Mohammad Nazmul Hassan, Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Hasan Mahmood Khan, Defence Secretary Md Ashraf Uddin, Press Secretary Saleh Shibly, Additional Press Secretary Atikur Rahman Rumon, and Private Secretary-2 Md Mehedul Islam.

The visit comes amid ongoing administrative activities within the armed forces.
