Government and private offices across the country, including banks, insurance companies and stock market institutions, are set to resume regular operations on Monday following the end of the seven-day Eid-ul-Azha holiday.
The government declared public holidays from 25 to 31 May to mark the festival, allowing public sector employees an extended break combined with the weekly weekend.
With the holiday ending, millions of employees are expected to return to workplaces as normal administrative, financial and commercial activities gradually resume across the country.
Although a limited number of bank branches remained operational before Eid to facilitate essential transactions, full-scale banking services will restart from Monday.
Meanwhile, the return flow to the capital has gathered pace, with people travelling back from different parts of the country by road, rail and waterways after celebrating Eid with their families.
As commuters continue arriving in Dhaka, traffic movement on major roads and key entry points to the capital has started increasing, signalling a gradual return to routine city life.
