Joint force arrest 3, seizes arms, forex

Joint forces in a raid arrested three terrorists and seized arms, ammunition and foreign currencies from a house in the city yesterday.


Joint force comprising the members of the army and navy conducted the raid in a house at Shamsur Rahman road and arrested listed criminal Babu alias Grenade Babu and his three accomplices.

OC of Khulna Police Station Hawladar Sanwar Hossain Masum said the currencies include 268 Malaysian Ringgit, 50 Dirhams, 330 Indian Rupees, and 481 US dollars. 

The joint force team also seized 25 credit cards, a firearm with ammunitions, two smart phones, three button phones and two signed cheque books from the house.

Other arrested persons were identified as Abdur Rahman, (a converted Muslim) son of Gagan Dutta, Idris Gazi, son of Babu Gazi, and Zonayed Chowdhury Mintu, father of Grenade Babu, reports BSS. 

The arrestees and recovered items were handed over to Khulna Police Station. Legal actions have been taken against them, the OC said.
