Fascism remains present in the country, but no one will be allowed to rig the upcoming general election, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Shafiqur Rahman said yesterday (7 June) during an Eid greetings event in Kulaura, Moulvibazar.

“Vote theft will not be tolerated under any circumstances,” he said, addressing party supporters and the public at the gathering, reports BSS.

Calling for a just and equitable society, Shafiqur urged unity among all Islamic political forces. “We must overcome the conspiracies that sow division among Islamic groups. Only then can we build a society based on justice and equality,” he stated.

Criticising past political leadership, the Jamaat chief said, “Many once dreamed of turning Bangladesh into a ‘Golden Bengal’, but instead they turned it into a ‘crematory’.” He added that such failures must not be repeated, emphasizing the need for meaningful change.
