Technology for every man

Dhaka, 19 May - Banglalink, the country’s leading digital operator, has become the only company in Bangladesh to pledge support for the GSMA Principles for Driving the Digital Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities—reinforcing its commitment to building an inclusive digital nation where no one is left behind.

The GSMA is a global organisation unifying the mobile ecosystem to discover, develop and deliver innovation foundational to positive business environments and societal change.

The GSMA Principles are built upon three pillars: digital inclusion across organization, understanding of how to serve persons with disabilities, and innovation to create accessible products and services.

By adopting these principles, Banglalink becomes a part of a worldwide movement to continue its efforts to create products and services that are inclusive to all, raise awareness about disability inclusion and make sure that people can participate in the digital world regardless of their physical abilities.

“At Banglalink, we firmly believe that access to digital services and modern technology should be a fundamental right—not a privilege limited by physical ability,” said Johan Buse, CEO of Banglalink.

“As a digital operator committed to inclusive progress, we recognise our responsibility to ensure that the digital revolution benefits everyone. By pledging our support to the GSMA’s Principles for Disability Inclusion, we are taking an important step toward breaking down long-standing barriers that prevent people with disabilities from fully participating in the digital world. This commitment is not just symbolic—it reflects our broader ambition to build an inclusive digital ecosystem where services are accessible, experiences are equitable, and opportunities are shared by all.”

The company has already taken various crucial measures to achieve digital inclusion for persons with disabilities. It has revamped and simplified its website to enhance web accessibility for persons with disabilities. By installing ramps at office premises and customer care centers across the nation, the company has improved physical accessibility as well.

Banglalink has also continuously working to promote inclusive values and raise public awareness in our society through regular social media initiatives about disability inclusion.

With the Banglalink Digital Classroom Initiative in association with Proyash, the company is also making educational integration stronger by facilitating assistive technology within learning spaces for differently abled children. – Press release
