Prime Minister of Niger meets OIC delegation in Niamey



Jeddah, 14-02-2025 - The Prime Minister of the Republic of Niger, H.E Mr. Ali Mahamn Lamine Zeine, received a delegation from the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on 13 February 2025 at his office. The OIC delegation was led by H.E. Amb. Aftab Ahmad Khokher, Assistant Secretary-General for Science and Technology.

The discussions focused on enhancing cooperation between Niger and the OIC, particularly in the field of higher education, including the role of the Islamic University in Niger, based in Niamey, as well as the health sector.

Ambassador Aftab Ahmad Khokher conveyed greetings from the OIC Secretary-General H. E. Mr. Hissein Brahim Taha. He also acknowledged the role of Niger in promoting and supporting the OIC Mission and Vision. He underlined the importance of further strengthening collaboration and cooperation amongst the OIC Member States in the fields of education, science and technology, health, water, and climate change. He also briefed about the scholarship opportunities offered by the OIC Member States.

The Honourable Prime Minister emphasized the importance of Niger’s longstanding relationship with the OIC. He also shared his vision and future programs aimed at serving Niger’s interests, supporting its stability, and advancing its development path.

The meeting was also attended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Minister of Higher Education, and the Chief of Staff of the Prime Minister. – OIC News
