
Some families of July martyrs has meeting with the National Consensus Commission held at the LD Hall of the National Parliament on Sunday 26 Oct 2025.
Dhaka, Oct 26 – Families of the July martyrs claimed on Sunday that the ideals and objectives for which their loved ones sacrificed their lives remain unfulfilled.
They made the remarks during a meeting with the National Consensus Commission held at the LD Hall of the National Parliament.
A 10-member delegation representing the martyrs’ families told the Commission that they continue to face humiliation and deprivation in various government departments. They said that despite repeated efforts to raise their concerns, “invisible obstacles” prevent them from being heard.
The families also stressed the need to give the July National Charter a legal foundation and called for steps to ensure their safety and security.
In response, the Commission members said they were aware that the July Foundation had been working on these issues but were not informed about the ongoing deprivation and lack of services for the families.
They assured that all concerns raised at the meeting would be communicated to the relevant authorities.
When the families expressed a wish to meet the Chief Adviser, the Commission assured them of its cooperation to facilitate such a meeting.
The meeting was attended by Commission Vice-Chairman Professor Ali Riaz, members Dr. Badiul Alam Majumder, Justice Md. Emdadul Haque, Dr. Iftekharuzzaman, Dr. Mohammad Ayub Mia, and Monir Haider, Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser involved in the national consensus-building process. - UNB
