Patuakhali: A program to distribute tree seedlings, bamboo poles, summer vegetable seeds, organic and chemical fertilizers and pesticides among 7,000 farmers in Kalapara, Patuakhali has been inaugurated. On Tuesday afternoon, Patuakhali Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Shahid Hossain Chowdhury inaugurated all these sapling distribution programs organized by the Upazila Agriculture Department. Superintendent of Police Abu Yusuf, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Mohsin Uddin, Upazila Nirbahi Officer Kausar Hamid and Upazila Agriculture Officer Arafat Hossain were present at the time.
Tree seedlings and vegetable seeds were distributed among about 200 farmers at the inauguration ceremony. 20 metric tons of rice and vegetable seeds, 7 thousand fruit and forest seedlings, 124 metric tons of chemical fertilizers, 42 metric tons of organic fertilizers and 7 thousand 600 bamboo poles will be distributed among 7 thousand farmers in phases. - Gofran Palash
