Ctg. Abahani post massive win in BPL

Dhaka, 27 Apr- Chittagong Abahani Limited registered a massive 5-0 goal victory over Brothers Union Club in the ABG Bashundharta Bangladesh Premier League football held at Rajshahi district Stadium in Rajshahi on Saturday.

In the day's match, Nigerian forward Paul Komolafe scored a brace while defenders Nasir Chowdhury, Riaj Uddin Sagor and another Nigerian forward Ojukwu David Ifegwu netted a lone goal a piece for Chittagong Abahani Limited who led the first half by 2-0 goals.

Nasir opened an account scoring the first goal for Chittagong Abahani in the 18th minute while Paul doubled the lead scoring the second goal in the 32nd minute of the match.

Sagor further widened the margin scoring the third goal for Abahani Limited in the 60th minute while Ifegwu scored the third goal for Chittagong Abahani Limited in the 74th minute from a spot kick.

Paul completed Abahani's tally scoring his second and fifth goal in the 90+2nd minute of the match.

Chittagong Abahani completely dominated the proceeding and notched their deserving victory on the day while Brothers Union Club were totally off-colored.

The day's win saw, the port city team Chittagong Abahani Limited raise their tally to 16 points from 13 matches while the all orange Gopibagh outfit Brothers Union remained at bottom of the league table with three points playing the same number of outings.
 
Earlier, in the first phase, the two teams played out to a 2-2 goal draw held at Bir Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium in Munshiganj.
