The government has initiated steps to import fuel oil from Malaysia, Indonesia, and Kazakhstan to address the ongoing energy crisis, Cabinet Secretary Nasimul Ghani said.
Speaking after a cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman at the National Parliament House on Thursday, Ghani said disruptions in oil supply due to the Middle East conflict have prompted the search for alternative sources.
He added that the government continues to provide energy sector subsidies to ease public burden and is making all efforts to manage the situation effectively.
