Woman dies by suicide in Magura hostel

A staff of Child Safety Project under the Social Services Department allegedly committed suicide at a hostel in Mohammadpur upazila of Magura district on Sunday night.


The deceased was Papia Dutta, 39.

Sources said Papia, mother of a daughter, used to live at a women's hostel inside Upazila Parishad and her husband Mithun Dhar lives in Khulna.

On Sunday night, her body was seen hanging from the ceiling with a scarf at her house, said Officer-in-Charge of Mohammadpur police station Abdur Rahman.

Being informed, the body was recovered, he said, adding that an unnatural death case was filed in this regard, reports UNB.
