4 more die of measles-like symptoms in 24hrs

Four more children have died from measles and measles-like symptoms in Bangladesh in the 24 hours till 8:00am on Thursday, taking the total death toll to 605 since March 15, 2026.

Of the new deaths, one was confirmed as measles-related while three were classified as suspected, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

With this, the total number of suspected measles deaths has jumped to 514, while the confirmed deaths have reached 91.

A total of 1,136 suspected measles cases were recorded in the last 24 hours, taking the overall suspected cases to 75,708.

During the same period, 69 new confirmed measles cases were reported, bringing the total number of confirmed infections to 9,260, reports UNB.

Since March 15, a total of 61,194 suspected measles patients were hospitalised, of whom 57,043 have recovered, according to the DGHS data.
