Rally held in Kalapara on International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction on Tuesday.

Patuakhali: International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction was observed in Kalapara, Patuakhali, under the slogan "Let's start from home; let's build a disaster-resilient nation."

On Tuesday at 10:00 AM, a colorful rally—organized by the Upazila Administration and the Department of Disaster Management—started from the Upazila premises. Participants included CPP officials, staff, volunteers, and people from various walks of life. The rally paraded through the main roads of the municipal town before returning to the Upazila Parishad, where a discussion meeting was held.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md. Arifuzzaman addressed the event as the chief guest, with Upazila Project Implementation Officer Md. Moksedul Alam presiding over the proceedings. Special guests who spoke included Kalapara Municipal BNP President Gazi Faruk, Upazila Agriculture Officer Md. Arafat Hossain, Cooperative Officer Md. Abbas Ali, and Youth Development Officer Md. Julhas Ul Azad, among others.
