The number of people missing after Wednesday's flash flood in Nepal has jumped significantly to almost 2,000, including at least 517 foreign nationals. As Nepal grapples with the scale of the disaster, new satellite images show just how much damage has been done.
Analysis by BBC Verify comparing the satellite views before and after the disaster shows the key Nepal-Tibet border crossing has been almost completely washed away. One village has largely disappeared, and mud and damage are seen 100m (330 ft) above the river bed. Meanwhile, new footage has emerged of the moment a glacier collapsed, triggering the flood. – BBC briefing
