Dhaka, Seoul keen to revise air service agreement
Bangladesh and South Korea are keen to revise the existing Air Services Agreement (ASA) between the two countries soon, to operate regular direct commercial flights between Dhaka and Seoul.
The South Korean authority has already sent a draft copy of the revised ASA to Dhaka as the existing one put some impediment to operate smooth commercial flights between the two countries.
Currently, two Korean airlines operate chartered flight service between the two countries especially to ferry a good number of expatriate Bangladeshi workers residing in Korea.
This was revealed today when South Korean Ambassador to Bangladesh Park Young-sik called on Civil aviation and tourism minister Muhammad Faruk Khan at the secretariat here, said a press release, reports BSS.
During the meeting, the Korean envoy expressed his hope that Dhaka and Seoul would be able to come to a consensus to ink the revised ASA soon. Khan said regular direct air connectivity between the two countries will boost trade and cooperation.
He said regular direct commercial flights operations will also benefit Bangladeshi business persons, students and expatriate workers.
