Bangladesh, Australia explore wider ties in education, trade

Bangladesh and Australia have discussed opportunities for collaboration in areas including education, agriculture, and trade, reaffirming their commitment to advancing mutually beneficial partnerships.


F. M. Borhan Uddin, Bangladesh High Commissioner to Australia, paid a courtesy call on Speaker of the House of Representatives of Australia, Milton Dick MP, at the later's office in the Parliament House recently and discussed issues of mutual interest.

During the meeting, the Australian Speaker expressed his sincere appreciation for the warm hospitality extended to him during his recent visit to Dhaka in April 2026.

He commended Bangladesh for holding a free and fair general election in February 2026 and expressed his desire to work closely with Bangladesh to further strengthen bilateral relations.

Both sides expressed keen interest in enhancing cooperation between the parliamentary groups of the two countries to promote best democratic practices and institutional exchanges, reports UNB.
