Robber killed in lynch-mob attack in Noakhali

A 35-year-old suspected robber was killed in a lynch-mob attack at Kalir Bazar in Kabirhat upazila of Noakhali district on Saturday night.


The deceased was identified as Mizanur Rahman Rony, son of Shahid of Joinadpur village in the upazila.

Mizanur Rahman was wanted in six criminal cases, said Nizam Uddin Bhuiya, officer-in-charge of Kabirhat Police Station.

Witnesses said Mizanur had an altercation with some people at Kalir Bazar area around 8:30 pm.

At one stage, local people equipped with sticks and iron rod, beat Mizanur up mercilessly, leaving him dead on the spot, reports UNB. 

On information, police recovered the body and sent it to 250-bed Noakhali General Hospital morgue for autopsy.
