Unknown hackers targeted the official Facebook page of the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) Chief Prosecutor’s office on Sunday, briefly disabling the livestream of arguments against ousted leader Sheikh Hasina.
Authorities quickly restored the page, allowing the presentation to continue.
ICT Chief Prosecutor Tajul Islam confirmed the hacking attempt during a press briefing at the tribunal, alleging that the attackers sought to prevent the public from seeing evidence of crimes against humanity committed by Hasina and her associates during last year’s July–August uprising.
He added that the hackers also aimed to obscure the transparency and fairness of the trial process.
