70 gold bars weighing 8 kgs seized at Dhaka Airport

Preventive team of Dhaka Custom House has seized 70 bars of 8 kg 120 gram of gold from an abandoned flight of US Bangla Airlines at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport this afternoon.

Dhaka Custom House Deputy Commissioner Sanwarul Kabir has confirmed the matter to BSS.

Acting on a tip-off, the members of the preventive team of Dhaka Custom House carried out an operation on the plane and recovered the bars from the rubbish bin inside the aircraft, he said.

It’s estimated that market value of the gold is taka around 2.54 crore.

A case has been filed against three passengers at the Dhaka Airport Police Station, reports BSS.
