A 25-year-old man killed himself early Sunday by jumping in front of a moving train in Chandpur.

The deceased could not be identified yet, said Chandpur rail police.

The incident occurred around 5:20 am near a rail crossing on Chandpur-Raypura road, said Nahid Mazumdar, gatekeeper of the rail crossing.

The man was roaming in the area and as the Chattogram-bound intercity train Meghna Express was passing he jumped under it, he said.

The body has been recovered and sent for autopsy. Samples have been collected to identify the man, said Murad Ullah Bahar, Officer-in-Charge of Chandpur Railway police station, reports UNB.
