RU student's hanging body recovered, husband held

A female student of Rajshahi University (RU) was found hanging at a residence in the district's Binodpur area.

A female student of Rajshahi University (RU) was found hanging at a residence in the district's Binodpur area on Friday night.
Deceased Rita Akhter, 21, was a second-year student of Law and Justice Department of the university. She used to live at a rented house with her husband Rabbi, also a second-year student in the university’s Applied Mathematics Department.
Quoting Rabbi, police said he found Rita in hanging condition from a window at about 11:30pm. He was taken her to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital where the on-duty doctors declared her dead.
He has been taken into custody for questioning, said Motihar Police Station OC Anwar Ali Tuhin.
The body has been kept at the hospital morgue. A case will be filed in this regard, the police official added.
