Government bank official attacked in Kalapara

Patuakhali: An attack has taken place on a government bank official in Kalapara, Patuakhali. The attack took place in Chapli Bazar of Dhulasar Union of the upazila on Friday afternoon. The victim is Md. Al Amin, an officer of Janata Bank PLC, Khepupara branch.

It is learned that some terrorists attacked him unexpectedly on Friday afternoon in Chapli Bazar of Dhulasar Union of Mahipur Police Station under the upazila and quickly left the scene.

Locals said that those involved in the attack have been using the name of BNP for a long time and have been carrying out terrorist activities and extortion in the area. The accused are Monir (36), Ferdaus (26) and Montu (22) sons of Bajlu Gazi of Notun Para village of Dhulasar Union of Mahipur Police Station.

Primary school teacher Md. Tariqul Islam Sumon said, “Even though such an attack is taking place in broad daylight, no effective action is being taken against them. This is causing panic among the common people.”

The victim manager Al Amin said, “A few days ago, I had an argument with them over buying fish, and the matter was resolved at the local level. But then I don’t really understand why they attacked me like this. I want justice for this terrorist attack."

Mahipur thana BNP General Secretary Advocate Shahjahan Parvez said, “The terrorists do not belong to any party, and if the news is proven to be true, legal and party action will be taken against them.”

Mahipur Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md. Shamim Ahmed said, We have not received any written complaint in this regard so far. Necessary action will be taken if we receive a written complaint. - Gofran Palash
