A Dhaka court has issued a travel ban on former BASIC Bank Chairman Sheikh Abdul Hye Bacchu in a case filed about embezzlement of Tk 2,265 crore through loan scams.

Md Mozammel Haque Khan, Commissioner of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) confirmed the matter on Wednesday.

The ACC official said as far I know Abdul Hye Bacchu is staying at home right now. A letter has been sent to the concerned departments to refrain him from leaving the country.

Earlier, the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) submitted the charge sheet to the court against Sheikh Abdul Hye Bachchu, and 146 others. - Special Correspondent
