The director of the Press Institute Bangladesh (PIB) for study and training, K. M. Shakhawat Moon, was temporarily suspended following allegations of irregularities and corruption – issued by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Tuesday.

The order said that preliminary investigations confirmed the allegations against Shakhawat Moon, who had previously served as the deputy press secretary to former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

The suspension was made under Rule 39(1) of the Bangladesh Press Institute Service Regulations, 1988.

During the suspension period, he will continue to receive his standard allowance as per regulations, reports UNB.

Shakhawat Moon had also served as the executive producer (program) at Bangladesh Television (BTV).
