Ukraine receives 252 bodies from Russia in repatriation efforts

KIEV, Sept. 18 (Xinhua/UNB) -- Ukraine received 252 bodies from Russia as part of repatriation efforts, the country's Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War said Thursday.

According to the Russian side, the bodies belong to Ukrainian citizens, including military personnel.

The repatriation was facilitated by the International Committee of the Red Cross.

Law enforcement investigators, together with forensic experts, will conduct all necessary examinations and identify the repatriated bodies.
