The White Panel (Shada Dal) of Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University (SAU) organized a vibrant Eid Reunion and Reception Ceremony for Eminent Persons 2025 at the TSC Auditorium on June 26, 2025. The reception was actually accorded to the Faculties who went on retirement during the last few years. The event brought together faculty members and distinguished guests in a spirit of celebration and recognition.
The program aimed to foster friendship and feelings among members of the university Shada Dal community while honoring the former teachers who have made significant contributions in education, research, and development of the university.
The eminent retired Faculties were presented with bouquet of flowers and crests. The event featured heartfelt speeches, and a festive atmosphere that reflected the memories and present status of the participants plus the spirit of Eid. Organizers including the Convener of the program Prof. Dr. Md. Razzab Ali from the White Panel expressed their gratitude to all attendees and reaffirmed their commitment to promoting academic excellence and community values at SAU.
Prof. Dr. Md. Abdul Latif, Vice Chancellor, Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University attended the function as chief guest while Prof. Md. Abul Basher, Treasurer of SAU and Shada Dal President chaired the function. The event was also graced by Prof. Dr. Md. Rahedul Islam, Vice Chancellor, Kurigram Agricultural University who was a Faculty of SAU before joining to his present position. Prof. Dr. Mosammat Nur Mahal Akhter Banu, General Secretary, Shada Dal moderated the program.
Prof. Dr. Md. Abdul Latif, Vice Chancellor, SAU in his address solemnly recalled the contributions of the retired Faculties in producing high caliber agriculture-graduates who are now engaged in different organizations in home and abroad. The Vice Chancellor of SAU called upon the present Faculties to utilize the retired teachers’ expertise in appropriate fields. He paid rich tributes to them.
Kurigram Agricultural University Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Rashedul Islam in his speech while recalling his memories urged the current teachers to be always by the side of the retired teachers in the time of their need and distress.
Among the Reception attendees who spoke while reminiscing include Prof. Mohammad Hossain Bhuiyan, Prof. Dr. Fazlul Karim, Prof. Dr. Sirajul Islam Bhuiyan, Prof. Dr. Md. Jafarullah, Prof. M Zahidul Haque and others. Prof. Md. Abul Basher, SAU Treasurer and Shada Dal President concluded the ceremony with a call to strengthen collaboration and uphold the legacy of service and integrity within the university and beyond. He thanked all the participants and organizers.
The function was followed by a delicious dinner.
