The Dhaka University authorities have filed a case against three to four hundred anonymous people over the clash incident between Bangladesh Chhatra League and Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal on the DU campus.

The case was filed today with Shahbagh police station, Dhaka University proctor Professor AKM Golam Rabbani told reporters this evening at his office.

"The case was filed against the people who tried to destroy the academic atmosphere of the university and create unrest on the campus with sticks, rods and various types of local weapons," said Golam Rabbani.

If any student of the university found involved with this incident, he will be brought to sentence as per the law of the university, he added.

According to the case statement, a group of miscreants with sticks, rods and various types of local weapons formed a gathering in front of the Dhaka Medical's outdoor amid elections to elect 35 teachers' representatives for DU senate on the campus.

At one stage, they started disrupting the election as well as the peaceful academic atmosphere prevailing at the university, it added.

The statement said the culprits beat up an on-duty security guard of Curzon hall gate as the guard tried to stop them when they tried to go back forcefully using the locked gate.

The miscreants also vandalized two buses of Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation (BRTC) that provide transport facilities to the university students as well as destroyed different national and university resources, reports BSS.
