The Indian Border Security Force (BSF) has pushed at least 30 individuals into Bangladesh through two separate border points in Chapainawabganj and Mymensingh.

Of them, eight individuals were pushed into Bangladesh in the early hours of today through the Chanshikari border area of Bholahat upazila in Chapainawabganj. Members of 59 Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) later detained them and took them to their camp.

The detainees were identified as Fayez, 28, Azim Sarker, 25, Mim Khatun, 19, Rustam Ali, 44, Mofazzel Hossain, 35, Rantna Akhter Nupur, 22, Nadira Khatun, 37, and Dukhi Das, 55.

Lieutenant Colonel Golam Kibria, Commanding Officer of 59 BGB, said the detainees would be handed over to Bholahat Police Station following further investigation.

In a separate incident, 22 more individuals - including women and children - were pushed into Bangladesh by the BSF through the Dobaura and Haluaghat border areas of Mymensingh during the early hours of Sunday, confirmed the BGB.

Colonel Sarker Mohammad Mostafizur Rahman, Sector Commander of BGB Mymensingh Sector, said 12 people from two families were pushed through the Munshipara point of the Dobaura border. They were detained by Gujrat Police.

Meanwhile, 10 more individuals - including nine women and a girl - were pushed through the Surjapur BGB camp of the Haluaghat border, reports BSS.

According to BGB officials, the BSF pushed them through the Indian Meghalaya border.

An investigation is underway and legal action will be taken accordingly, said the BGB authorities.
