A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between the Fire Service and Civil Defence (FSCD) Directorate and Bangladesh Bank to ensure rapid fire emergency response at the central bank’s headquarters.

The signing ceremony took place at the Bangladesh Bank headquarters on Tuesday.

Md. Saleh Uddin, Deputy Director (Dhaka Division) of the Fire Service, and Md. Riyad Farzand, Joint Director of Bangladesh Bank, signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations.

Under this MoU, a facility functioning as a "Satellite Fire Station" will be established within the premises of the Bangladesh Bank Headquarters.

To ensure immediate action during fire incidents, FSCD will station a dedicated team and equipment at the site permanently, reports UNB.

A total of 13 Fire Service personnel of various ranks will be deployed at the bank, supported by a fire engine (pump) and necessary rescue gear.
